AMPA and the Student Council

The AMPA is an association for the mothers and the fathers of the students of the school. To take part of it you have to fill some papers and give a quantity of money to the school at the beginning of the year.
The advantages of the people of the AMPA is that they get a discount in the trips organised by the school, normally of between 2 and 4 euros. Another good thing of the AMPA is that the fathers can participate with the schools helping to take decisions for it like future trips or improvements for the centre. This decisions are taken by the AMPA, the Student Council and the principals and teachers.
The Student Council is a small group of students who represent the school. At the beginning of the year the people who want to be in the Council have to register himself or herself in a list and he or she can be of whatever course. One day the school organise a vote for all the courses.

Optional subjects:

From the third year of ESO (Obligatory Secondary Education in English) to the second year of baccalaureate (The last year of high school) you have to choose some subjects between two or more to start directing your way to the subjects that you like the most.
In third of ESO you have to choose between Technology and Music and between Art and Classic Culture. Those subjects have the same number of sessions per week and when you have to go to this subjects the class split in two groups.

The next years, from 3rd ESO and up, you will have to choose between sciences and languages and subjects related to both topics. You can change between sciences and languages in superior courses, but it's not advisable because it's very difficult recover some years of the same subject.
